Video Story

The natural landscape is Zhangjiajie's true strength. From the mountaintop, clouds and mist swirl, with Tianmen Mountain and other floating peaks occasionally appearing through the thin fog. The magnificent scenery of thousands of peaks vying for attention and a single pillar reaching

for the sky is like a universal language, striking directly at the heart, needing no translation.

Over the past two years, I've witnessed firsthand the genuine efforts Zhangjiajie has made to attract inbound tourism. Foreign tourists can quickly enter the country with just their passports. Signage in Chinese, English, and Korean covers the scenic area, and tourists can receive instant tax refunds after shopping, truly realizing the possibility of free travel and easy shopping. "Arriving with empty suitcases and leaving with full ones" has become a common sight for foreign tourists.

More importantly, a casual conversation with a foreign tourist made me realize that what attracts them and makes them want to stay is not only the breathtaking natural scenery, but also the ancient and modern culture, and the everyday atmosphere of local life.

From then on, I started to "add courses" for myself. I first tried to understand things myself, then researched and translated them clearly. When the Tujia brocade, an intangible cultural heritage, is transformed through my "interpretation" from merely a traditional dowry bedding, Xilankapu (the traditional Tujia brocade) naturally gains a layer of historical depth within its Eastern aesthetics in the hands of foreign tourists.

In Zhangjiajie, there are over 2,000 foreign language tour guides and interpreters like myself. We regularly participate in industry training, rapidly evolving from scenic area guides into cultural ambassadors. And we are more than just tour guides. From city entry procedures to scenic area sightseeing, from navigation to shopping, everyone here is a mobile window to the world, sincerely showcasing the endearing image of China.
